Diaspora Masterclass for International Development- collaboration with Stichting Wilde Ganzen
collaboration with Stichting Wilde Ganzen (Wild Goos Foundation)
Stichting Wilde Ganzen is one of the oldest NGO´s in the Netherlands and supports numerous projects done by small private foundations. Migrant and Diaspora organizations are also important for Stichting wilde Ganzen.
The collaboration between Local Changemakers (before Pimp My Village) and Wilde Ganzen goes back many years. We have received support for projects and also participated in their annual NGO day called Wilde Ganzen dag.
We are currently working together on training and coaching for diaspora organizations by giving Masterclasses and coaching. We hope that the organizations will learn to make themselves more visible and increase their capacity. If you want more information or participate in this unique Masterclass, take a look:

Partnership PAGE IX MAGAZINE
After discovering interesting stories and articles written by the African online magazine Page IX
I contacted them and asked if I could publish stories in their magazine about Diaspora putting up projects in Africa. Oscar Omondi, (editor and digital publisher) reacted very positive and from that moment on we started a partnership amplifying voices that inspire progress and transformation.
By combining Page IX’s commitment to African based storytelling with Local ChangeMakers’ mission to elevate grassroots leaders, this collaboration will spotlight individuals and communities driving meaningful change across Africa and the world.
Together, we aim to celebrate creativity, resilience, and innovation while fostering connections that transcend borders. Through features, interviews, and collaborative projects, we seek to inspire readers, empower changemakers, and spark action that builds community and creates lasting transformation.

CD4D Ambassadorsproject

Visibility and Coaching- Collaboration with IOM Netherlands

In 2017 I started a collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration in the Netherlands.
We worked together on the connecting Diaspora for development project. In this project Diaspora where sent from The Netherlands to their country of origin to do assignments and share their knowledge and expertise to contribute to the development of the country of origin.

Local Changemakers (at that time Pimp My Village) contributed to this project with the CD4D Ambassadors project. Together with IOM we selected 10 Diaspora to become an Ambassador of the CD4D project. We gave them a Visibility training and coaching so they could represent themselves better and make themselves visible.

Africa Day Diaspora workshops- Max van der stoel Foundation

Many years ago, when we just started, I was invited to the Africa Day. This is an annual event that is completely dedicated to Africa. There are interesting speakers, workshops and also entertainment.
Already more then 10 years ago we were allowed to set up a stand there to promote our Foundation and participated in a prize for starting small Foundations. From that moment on, I have always been involved in Africa Day. We have organized several workshops for and with Diaspora (Migrant) organizations.

In 2021, I was asked to participate in the Editorial Board of the Africa Day and input will be provided on the content of the Africa Day. Almost every year I will be present to give a workshop or join a panel. The focus is on Diaspora Engagement within Development Co-operation and Locally Led Development.
